Wire sawing is a flexible sawing technique that can be used to cut large, expansive areas. The wire sawing system uses a series of guide pulleys to draw a continuous loop of diamond-studded wire through a cut. The system can be configured to fit into confined spaces and is ideally designed for aggregate thicker than 24". Illinois is our home territory for concrete sawing. Alliance was asked if it was possible to cut and remove a live 36" RCP raw sewage pipe after a concrete structure was built around it, we said no problem. Once the structure was built the section of pipe needed to be removed between the structure walls. A wire saw was the logical choice for this type of work, the wire was looped under the pipe and around the wire machine, after the pipe wall was penetrated the structure filled with sewage. Before the first pull was made wire was strung under the pipe for the second pull. After both pulls were made Cecchin Plumbing pulled the 6' long section of pipe out, the rigging was done prior to the wire sawing.
